Claims Policy
BEST MOVING SYSTEM DAMAGE PROTOCOL AND LIMITS OF LIABILITY
Notice of Claim: All claims must be submitted in writing via email to [email protected] within 60 days after the delivery of goods. Each claim must include pictures and a detailed description of the damages, including how they may have occurred. Claims will be thoroughly investigated and resolved within five business days, provided all applicable moving payments have been received. Please note that it is illegal to withhold payment from the final bill to compensate for perceived damages. If our movers have not been compensated for their services, we reserve the right to refuse to process a claim.
Coverage and Liability: Our standard liability covers up to $1.50 per pound per item, with a maximum liability of $80 per item. This basic coverage is included at no additional cost. If additional coverage is required, customers are encouraged to seek third-party insurance options.
Furniture and Packed Items:
Unpacked Furniture: It is the customer’s responsibility to empty all cabinets, dressers, and drawers prior to the movers’ arrival. We will not accept liability for damages to furniture that has not been emptied, as contents may shift and damage the unit.
Simulated Wood Furniture: We do not accept liability for damage to particle board or pressed board furniture, as these materials are structurally weak and difficult to repair.
Fragile Items: Items such as dishware, glass, and other fragile items are not covered unless packed by our professional movers. Self-packed fragile items are not insured for damage.
Electrical Goods and Appliances:
We are not liable for internal damage to electronic goods unless external damage has been caused. Some electronic faults may develop despite careful handling.
Movers are not responsible for scratches or dents on major appliances, which are often covered by a thin and vulnerable metal surface.
Items with Water:
Refrigerators, freezers, aquariums, and similar items must be emptied and drained before the move. We are not liable for water damage or damages resulting from improper preparation.
Valuables and Personal Items:
BEST MOVING SYSTEM is not responsible for the loss or damage of valuable items such as cash, jewelry, documents, or similar valuables. We recommend that customers transport these items personally.
Customer Presence:
We encourage customers to remain present throughout the move to inspect items as they are delivered. If a customer is not available, we require a signed release acknowledging acceptance of the items’ condition. We will not be responsible for missing or damaged items if the customer is not present during the move.
Risky Tasks and Unavoidable Damages:
We will not be held responsible for damages caused by non-standard moving practices, such as navigating tight spaces or passing items over balconies. Waivers must be signed for any non-standard requests.
Weather and Structural Damage:
We do not cover weather-related damages or damages caused by item size compared to the width or height of a hallway, doorway, or staircase. Waivers must be signed if customers request the movers to proceed under such conditions.
Assembly and Disassembly Services:
We do not provide assembly or disassembly services for cribs, waterbeds, pool tables, or gas appliances. Appliances must be disconnected and drained before movers arrive. We do not mount or remove televisions or any items bolted to walls or ceilings.
Floor and Wall Damage:
Our liability for damages to floors, walls, doors, and painted surfaces is limited to a maximum of $100. In rare cases of severe damage, compensation will not exceed 50% of the final move bill, at the discretion of BEST MOVING SYSTEM.
Basic Protection:
Coverage: $1.50 per pound per item, up to a maximum of $80 per item.
Cost to You: Included at no additional charge in your move.
Limits of Liability:
(i) Liability is limited to the damaged or lost part(s) or piece(s) of a set or unit, unless the damage renders the entire set or unit non-functional.
(ii) No liability is assumed for customer-assisted moves or when customers interfere with the moving process.
